With Christmas party organisation in full swing for both private & companies - many are looking to take catering in-house for many reasons. For companies - it's a great way to socialise your teams within the workplace - it's why the US have their proms based in the school gym halls  - it adds to the atmosphere, it feels more personal, like a wedding at home in the garden.  
 
The first thing to discuss is the flow of the party - do you want a party feel with cocktails & dancing so perhaps canapes & bowl food which can be eaten easily whilst standing & socialising. Or are you looking for a more formal sit down affair, like a hotel, with banquet tables with a 3 course meal so guests can sit & chat all evening. Or perhaps an informal buffet where guests can eat a hearty meal & then dance, without the meal taking up the best part of the evening.  Once you have decided on your party goal then it’s much easier to fit within a budget & to make decisions on catering.
